Fleet suffer defeat at home

Gravesend & Northfleet 0 York City 1

GRAVESEND failed to build on their midweek win over Tamworth going down to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to York City on Saturday.

The only goal of the game came on 32 minutes when Clayton Donaldson was played in by Craig Farrell before coolly sliding the ball under the advancing Lance Cronin.

Fleet struggled throughout the game and rarely threatened.

The closest they came to an equaliser was nine minutes from time when Charlie MacDonald's effort with his back to goal just cleared the crossbar.

Gravesend: Cronin, J Smith, McCarthy, R Smith, Ricketts (Ekoku 74), Quinn, DeBolla, Slatter, Keeling, Moore, MacDonald.
