Fleet thrashed in home friendly

Gravesend 0 Colchester United 6

GRAVESEND received an early lesson in finishing from League 1 club Colchester who romped to a 6-0 success in Tuesday's pre-season friendly at Stonebridge Road.

Colchester are Gillingham's opponents on the opening day of the League season at Priestfield on August 6.

The Fleet included former Charlton striker Kim Grant who is on trial at the club.

Manager Liam Daish used two goalkeepers in ex-Walsall player Aaron Kerr and Charlie Treacy who was with Oldham last season.

The Fleet head for the West Country at the weekend, playing at Basingstoke on Friday night before taking on Lymington on Saturday.
