Fleet triumph in game of own goals

JUSTIN SKINNNER: netted from the spot
JUSTIN SKINNNER: netted from the spot

Northwich Victoria 1 Gravesend & N 2

IN A match littered with mistakes, Gravesend & Northfleet just about deserved to come out on top.

Fleet dominated proceedings early on and went in front through a penalty on 36 minutes, courtesy of an error by Northwich keeper Andy Ralph.

He missed what looked like a routine cross from Fleet's Andy Drury and, in his panic, upended James Pinnock. Justin Skinner confidently slotted home from the spot.

Northwich were level soon afterwards, though, when Gravesend defender Nathan Bunce diverted a cross from Jonny Allan into his own net.

Gravesend's winner came 10 minutes into the second half. Ralph - he wasn't his day - was caught out by a cross from Jean Sigere. The ball struck the unlucky Northwich defender Jon McCarthy and bounced across the line.
