Fleet boss Daryl McMahon felt his team were always going to get their noses in front again on Saturday.
The Fleet were pegged back before half-time against Truro and needed three goals in the last 14 minutes to wrap up victory in National League South.
"When we had 20 minutes left, I turned to the bench and said I can't see us not scoring," said McMahon.
"They couldn't keep defending for (another) 20 minutes, something was going to fall for us and I believed that we would take our chances.
"We spoke during the week about not getting carried away emotionally if the game is 1-1 at home and you think you should be winning.
"Don't go direct, keep playing the way we want to play and I thought second half was outstanding in that respect."
The Fleet were indebted to two excellent goals from midfielder Jack Powell, who took his season's tally to eight in the process.
But instrumental in their win was McMahon's decision to add Bradley Bubb to their attacking line-up with 20 minutes left.
"We put the forwards on in different positions, we put them behind Keds," said McMahon.
"We couldn't get behind them because they defended so deep so it was a case of different passing options.
"If you look at the forward five it's a pretty attacking team and in the end it was wave after wave and they couldn't keep us out.
"I didn't think it was a gamble. We were on top of the game and it was a natural thing to do. It wasn't a game-changer, it just gave them something different to think about."
The result moves the Fleet up to second - just eight points behind leaders Maidenhead who were held to a goalless draw at East Thurrock.
The Fleet have a game in hand and host Maidenhead at Stonebridge Road later this month.
McMahon added: "I didn't even know we were second until you told me. It's not something that I'm interested in.
"I'm interested in our performances improving, this week was an improvement on last week and there are things we need to improve on for next week at Welling."
