Ebbsfleet 4 Weymouth 1
STACY LONG scored his second brace in as many games as Ebbsfleet United secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Weymouth in the Blue Square Premier at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
The home side got off to the perfect start and opened the scoring after two minutes when Long got on the end of a loose ball, before cutting inside and firing into the bottom corner.
Weymouth looked to find a way back into the game and almost pulled level on 13 minues when Nick Crittenden latched onto an Anton Robinson through ball, but Lance Cronin did well to save at his feet.
Fleet made it 2-0 on 25 minutes when John Akinde played the ball into Long's path, with the former Charlton trainee doing brilliantly to turn and fire an unstoppable shot past Jason Matthews.
Fleet effectively made the points safe before the break when former Terras striker Chukki Eribenne got up highest to head home Long's corner after 41 minutes.
In the second half, both teams struggled to get going with Fleet seemingly content to hold out for the win.
The visitors pulled a goal back on 74 minutes when substitute Gavin McCallum headed home Crittenden's free kick.
But the home side completed the rout in the 90th minute when Michael Bostwick fired home from 20 yards.
