HIGH-FLYING Hereford come to Stonebridge Road on Saturday - but it’s Gravesend & Northfleet who are the team in form.
Hereford may be sitting second in the Conference table, but Andy Ford’s men have the second-best record in the league over the past six games.
Four wins and a draw have given Fleet 13 points out of possible 18 and last week’s 1-0 win at play-off chasing Exeter was a further boost for the club.
“The Exeter win was a fantastic result, now we need to work on improving our home form and putting a run together,” said Ford.
The Fleet boss wants his team to put together a string of wins that would see them improve on their current 16th place and move towards the safety of mid-table.
He said: “Hereford is another massive game for us and should draw a big crowd. Only the league leaders Chester are in better form than us over the last six games, but we need to keep it going if we want to move up the table."
Skipper Steve McKimm and Francis Duku are available after suspension, but there is a doubt over Rob Haworth whose pregnant wife could go into labour over the weekend.
New striker Roy Essandoh will be looking to find the net again after scoring the winner at Exeter, although Ford is urging fans to be patient.
He said: “Roy got a bit of stick after his first game and he was a hero after last Saturday, but that sort of attitude isn’t helpful to the player.”
