GRAVESEND boss Andy Ford has spoken with his players about the possibility of introducing voluntary Monday morning training sessions.
At present they train twice a week but part-time Fleet are in the minority in a league dominated by full-time clubs and Ford is keen to try and compensate.
The club have received approval from the Beauwater Sports and Leisure Club to use the facility for the Monday sessions, which could start as early as next week.
Ford said: "I'm just trying to make it more of a level playing field. Farnborough, who are part-time, train Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday mornings. Crawley train three nights a week and Canvey are the same, so we're falling behind.
"It's not just about fitness, it's also about organisational needs, especially on set-pieces. As a squad we need to be together longer so more time can be spent on working with individuals.
He added: "Some of the players won't be able to make it because of their full-time jobs, so it won't be compulsory."
*Fleet's next Conference home game is against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday, December 28 kicks off at 3pm.
