A KENT golfer has made it into the England amateur team after a summer to remember.

Ed Richardson, owner of Southern Valley Golf Club, will make his England debut in the Home Internationals at Royal St George’s, Sandwich, from September 7-9.

The 37-year-old from Gravesend forced his way into the side after playing some high quality golf which started with his winning the West of England strokeplay title at Saunton.

The son of former England cricketer Peter Richardson, he takes the place of another Richardson, Matt, from The Hertfordshire Golf Club, who will be trying his luck on the professional circuit.
