GRAVESEND & Northfleet midfielder Ben Surey has been called into the initial 30-man England Under-23 National Game squad to play Italy at FC Ivrea next month.

Surey will be looking to retain his place when the squad is reduced to the 16 who will travel for the game on Wednesday, November 10.

Surey’s call-up follows team-mate Roy Essandoh being put on standby for the Northern Ireland squad earlier this month.
