Ebbsfleet striker Danny Kedwell has addressed rumours linking him with a move to Dover.
The 35-year-old scored his 58th Fleet goal in a 1-0 win over Barrow on Saturday.
He remains the first-choice striker at Stonebridge Road but with the club looking to trim their squad as part of a financial restructure, Kedwell is one of several players bound to have suitors elsewhere.
Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler brought him to Priestfield in 2011 and was part of the 'gang of four' caretakers in charge when Kedwell left Gills to sign for Ebbsfleet in 2015.
"There’s always rumours," Kedwell said. "I haven’t got a clue.
"No-one’s rung me or told me or the gaffer... No-one in the club’s told me anyway.
"I put in what I do on the pitch and it’s the first I’ve heard of it, you telling me this now."
Ebbsfleet's players were told their October wages would be eight days late and the money did come through on Friday.
Kedwell said: "I don’t know what’s going on but (the owner) has put his money in this club and we always know we’re going to get paid.
"It might be one day, two days late, whatever, but the good thing is we’ve got a good group and we get on with it.
"He’s going with a different structure and we’ve got to be with him and work with him.
"We’re professional footballers and we’ve got to be professional. Whatever happens off the field is down to the board and the manager has to protect us.
"He’s a top man and we’ve got his back. We’ve got to make sure we perform for him, for ourselves, for the club and the fans. That’s the main priority and today we did.
"We’ve got to make sure we keep going like we are. We’re all in this together, on the pitch, off the pitch.
"We don’t really talk about that stuff, we need to concentrate on the football and get results for the club."
It's now four games unbeaten for Ebbsfleet after Kedwell's fine strike proved enough to see off Barrow.
Chris Bush launched a long throw from the halfway line and when Kyle Jameson failed to cut it out, Kedwell pounced with a low finish across Joel Dixon into the far corner.
"I gambled," he said. "Bushy picked the ball up quick so I thought I’d get in behind quick because you can’t be offside from a throw.
"He’s mis-kicked it and I couldn’t believe my luck. It was a very tight angle so I had to make sure I got it right in that corner and I did.
"We’ve been in games this year that we’ve dominated and come away not winning or getting a point.
"It was the other way on Saturday; they dominated us and had a lot of the ball but didn’t really hurt us and that’s what we were doing earlier in the season. It’s turned around for us and we always knew it would.
"We’ve got most of the group from last year, which got us in the play-offs, so we know the quality’s there.
"Sometimes, in this league, you’ve got to win ugly. I’m sure there’s going to be many more when teams are going to dominate us and we’ve got to make sure we defend right, like we did today and keep those clean sheets because we’ll always get one chance and more or less score so we’ve just got to keep it going.
"We’ve got to keep building and I’m sure the results will keep coming. We’ve got a good group here with some great players.
"We all worked together on Saturday. Some weeks it’s gone the other way, where we’ve been working as individuals but all last season we worked as a team and it’s coming back in."
Kedwell completed the 90 minutes against Barrow despite being floored by a late challenge which left him hobbling after the game.
He said: "There were 20 minutes left but I carried on. It was a nasty tackle on my foot but I’m sure I’ll be all right.
"I’m old school. You’ve just got to go out there and try to perform the best you can, even if you’ve got little niggles - that’s the sort of person I am."
