LEGENDARY former Gillingham goalkeeper Ron Hillyard acclaimed the point-saving performance of Fleet goalkeeper Paul Wilkerson who produced two top-drawer saves in second half stoppage time to earn his side a point.
Hillyard, now the Fleet's goalkeeper coach, said: "If there is a better goalkeeper in the Conference then I haven't seen him. We've worked hard on Paul since he came here from Stevenage and that work is paying off. To be honest we didn't expect a clean sheet today but thanks to Paul we got that and a share of the points.
"He's a good talker and gives his defenders confidence while his levels of concentration are excellent. Having said that there are areas of his game that still need working on."
Wilkerson was at his best in the four minutes added in stoppage time as first he brilliantly tipped over a goalbound shot from ex-Gill Lenny Piper and then foiled Farnborough substitute Rocky Baptiste with a marvellous reflex save.
The Fleet, who were looking to end a run of four games without a win, might have taken maximum points in 70th minute when skipper Jimmy Jackson shot against a post from less than five yards in a thoroughly entertaining goalless draw.
