Daryl McMahon has made his first new signing as Ebbsfleet United manager.
Midfielder John Paul Kissock has joined the Fleet from Vanarama National League South rivals Whitehawk, who lost in the play-off final to Boreham Wood earlier this month.
Kissock came through Everton's youth system and represented England at under-16 and under-18 level before making loan moves to Gretna and Accrington Stanley.
He played non-league football for Southport, Luton and Macclesfield - the latter loaning him out to Oldham last year - before Kissock followed manager Steve King to Whitehawk last summer.
Kissock was in the Hawks side which lost 3-0 to Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road on Good Friday.
McMahon said: "JP brings intensity in terms of how he plays. He works hard and he’s very positive with his chat and his energy.
"He’s got bundles of ability when he gets on the ball and he dictates the tempo of play.
"If he makes a mistake he’s brave and he’ll keep getting on the ball.
"He’s going to be a big player for us, especially at home. When teams sit in against us – like they have done in the last couple of seasons – we need some who’s confident enough to get on the ball and open teams up."
Kissock can play in the hole behind the strikers or in a deeper midfield position.
McMahon said: "He’s talented enough to do both roles.
"I’ll ask him to play different roles in different games and he’ll compliment the other midfield players we’ve got – Rancey, Stuart Lewis, Theo Lewis, Johnno and Westy."
