There was more success for Gravesend’s Leo’s Lions ABC at an international tournament.

A week after double Amateur Boxing Alliance International Belt tournament delight, the club came back from the Gothenburg Box Open in Sweden with two golds, five silvers and three bronze medals.

Alvin Martin, the head coach and founder of Leo’s Lions ABC in Northfleet, said: “We have had a fantastic time out in Sweden, the boys boxed with true heart and conviction.

“They are a credit to our club and have paved the way for our up-and-coming younger boxers, who are now itching to go out on the international scene.

“I couldn’t be any prouder and this is the result of true grit, heart and determination.”

An all-Leo’s Lions ABC Final saw Ronny Heaver see off Max Weintraub while club-mate Callum Young also came out on top at the tournament which ended on Sunday.

As well as Weintraub, Tyrone Morris, Riley Pennell, Charlie Sillence and Keaton Young claimed second-place finishes.

Lions came sixth out of 40 competing clubs overall, bringing home trophies for Best Diploma Boxer, Best Diploma Boxer B and Best Senior Boxer B.
