Ebbsfleet United 1 Burton Albion 0 AET
STACY LONG scored a dramatic extra-time winner to book Ebbsfleet United's place in the semi-final of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
Fleet edged out Burton 1-0 in the quarter-final replay at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night, after both sides played out a goalless draw on Saturday.
The home side scored the crucial goal in the 115th minute when Long met substitute George Purcell’s cross with a shot which squirmed under goalkeeper Saul Deeney’s body before rolling into the net.
Fleet are now just two games away from Wembley and face Blue Square Premier leaders Aldershot in the semi-finals.
The first leg will take place at Stonebridge Road on March 8, with a visit to the Recreation Ground a week later for the return leg.
Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish said: "It’s great for the club. We are capable of beating anyone in this league. We haven’t got any superstars but what we have is a real strong collective spirit."
