Daryl McMahon insists he can handle the pressure that will come with his new job as Ebbsfleet United manager.
McMahon was announced as Jamie Day’s successor on Tuesday, signing a two-year contract at Stonebridge Road.
He’ll be expected to get the Fleet promoted next season – an order which proved too tall for Day and his predecessor Steve Brown – but McMahon isn’t fazed by that pressure.
He said: "I’m fine with that. It doesn’t affect me. I’m looking forward to it, it’s my first time being a manager and I’ll take whatever comes my way.
"I’m delighted to have the job. It’s a big challenge and it’s a big job to get first up but you’ve got to start somewhere.
"I’ve been at the club for nigh-on two years in various capacities, I know the club well and know all the players here.
"I feel like I know what people want at this club – from the fans to the owners.
"I get on well with the players here and I won’t have any problem putting my point across to them.
"I want us to be able to dominate the ball and I want us to be exciting. I don’t like watching boring football and as a player, I didn’t like playing it."
