More on KentOnline
Listen to this week's podcast and we think you'll be inspired.
Not only by how Matt Godden has risen from local youth football in Kent to League 1 but how his Mum's terminal cancer is now driving him on to even greater efforts.
The 28-year-old has set up a JustGiving page raising money for the Pilgrims Hospice in Canterbury where his Mum is being cared for.
We go right back to the start of Godden's football journey as he shares memories of playing for Faversham Strike Force and Kennington.
Being picked up by Billy Bone's First Touch academy put him in the shop window and a big move to Scunthorpe followed.
But it was Ebbsfleet who really launched Godden's career and he's since gone on to play for Stevenage and Peterborough in the Football League.
There's real insight here into what it takes to climb the leagues and a reminder of how precious our families are. Please give generously.
