Daryl McMahon has called for a big performance on Saturday as Ebbsfleet warm up for the
play-offs with a home game against Eastbourne.
Already guaranteed to finish runners-up in National League South, the Fleet are looking to extend their seven-match unbeaten run at Stonebridge Road.
And with the first leg of their semi-final to come on Wednesday night, building momentum is key.
Fleet manager McMahon said: "I want us to play well, to perform. That’s important.
"We want to give the fans something to look at in terms of the last home league game of the season and getting ready for the following week.
"We’ve had a good few days off. The players had a weekend off and we were back in work on Monday. The players had time to get away from it and chill out.
"Last week, players who have played a lot of games had a bit of down time to prepare for this Saturday and going into the play-offs.
"Players who hadn’t played a lot trained a bit harder and played against Stevenage (in a friendly). There was a game on Tuesday against Tottenham as well to make sure everyone’s fit and ready to go for Saturday and the play-offs."
The game against Eastbourne, who are 14th and safe from relegation, offers a final chance for players to earn a place in McMahon’s starting XI for Wednesday.
He said: "If you’re training well and performing well, you’ve got an opportunity to knock on my door and say ‘I think I’ve done well and deserve a spot’.
"I’ve shown over the course of the season I’m not scared to make a change if I think somebody will step into the team and perform for us."
