Pressure is an overused word in football but Daryl McMahon is thriving on the cut and thrust of management.

The Ebbsfleet boss lived and breathed every kick from the touchline during Saturday’s National League South 1-0 win over Bath.

McMahon said: “I like to get involved and I love it. I think when I am on the side it helps me feel part of it. I don’t like sitting down and would always rather stand.

“I like encouraging or getting onto people if I see them doing something I don’t want them to do. I love my job and I’m lucky to be in a position to do it."

McMahon and assistant manager Steve Gritt must rate as one of the loudest dugout duos in the league, something the Fleet boss is making no apologies for.

He said: “I hope so – but I think Gritty is probably slightly louder than me!"

Fleet's win last weekend was their first home game in the league for more than a month. They are at home again this Saturday against Truro.

McMahon said: “We have scored a lot of goals at home this season and enjoyed being back. Now our focus is on Truro who will come here on Saturday and again make it difficult for us like all teams do.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Stuart Lewis is due to see a specialist about an ankle injury which has troubled him for several weeks.

McMahon said: “Stuart had a scan last week. He is due to see a specialist in the next few days and we’ll go from there."
