Fleet boss Daryl McMahon felt his team lacked composure in the second half at Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday night.
The home side produced an impressive second-half comeback to claim a 1-1 draw and knock Fleet off top spot in National League South.
“In the second half, the first 15-20 minutes we were poor,” said McMahon.

“We were too deep, couldn’t get out and lacked a bit of composure as well. Nathan (Ashmore) was outstanding in that period for us, I don’t know how many chances you need to liven yourselves up but we didn’t.
“After that we had two or three good chances to nick it 2-1 which we didn’t take.”
Keeper Nathan Ashmore produced a number of brilliant saves, including a penalty, as the Fleet started the second half on the backfoot.
“He is the best keeper in the league by a mile,” said McMahon. “He was outstanding. He is a fantastic keeper, he works very hard on his game with Michael Jordan.
“He is focused on improving himself and I think he has improved greatly. He was a good goalkeeper when we signed him and I think he is getting better and better.”
It was a stark contrast to an impressive first-half display when the Fleet were in complete control and they were unfortunate not to lead by more at half-time.
“First half we were excellent and if we’d come in 3-0 up at half-time then no-one could have complained,” said McMahon.
“Again we’ve had numerous opportunities and haven’t taken them. When you miss chances like that it gives the other team an opportunity to get back into the game.
“We came in at half-time and even if we had one more goal, with the greatest of respect to Hemel, it probably would have been game over.”
