Striker Darren McQueen hopes he has done enough to claim a regular place in the Fleet starting line-up.
The striker scored twice in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday in his only his second start for Ebbsfleet.
And after taking his tally for the season to four, McQueen hopes that Fleet boss Daryl McMahon will give him a run in the team.
“I think I’ve put myself on a good platform to be playing but we’ll see what happens,” said McQueen.
“It’s the manager’s decision, if he brings me on (instead) then I’ll try and do the same things and run in behind.
“He brought me in to score goals as he saw what I did last season. I just want to score goals, help the team and improve myself as a player at this level.”
McQueen has pace to burn and it was no surprise to hear that he wants to get behind defences – although he felt he could have got more goals against AFC Sudbury.
“I should have had one in the first half and (another) one in the second but the lads kept saying to me to keep going and it will come in the end and I got my rewards,” said McQueen.
“I should have had four but I am glad to get man-of-the-match.
“The manager put his trust in me and I thought I performed well and delivered what he wanted me to do.”
McQueen was joined on the scoresheet by two-goal substitute Stuart Lewis and the young striker joked: “I’m buzzing for Stuart Lewis, I didn’t know he had that in him! He showed everyone today.”
McQueen added: “From 0-0 at half-time I never thought it would end up like that but the manager said at half-time that we need to be more clinical in front of goal and everyone took their chances.”
