New signings Theo Lewis and Stuart Lewis have spoken about why they signed for Ebbsfleet United.
Theo Lewis, 23, joined the Fleet from Woking for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday, while 27-year-old former Gills player Stuart Lewis arrived from Wycombe the following day.
The pair join strikers Danny Kedwell and Tyrone Marsh in the group of transfers completed by Fleet boss Jamie Day since he took over from Steve Brown.
Theo Lewis said: "I heard on New Year’s Day that Ebbsfleet were interested. I knew that Jamie Day had come here as manager and I spoke to a few of the boys who I’ve played against, who have played under him, and they just said good things about him - about the way he likes his team to play.
"Ebbsfleet train regularly, three days a week, and I’m still young, so I want to train as much as I can. Woking train on Monday and Thursday morning.
"I wanted to get back into full-time football and obviously training three days a week is a step up. Hopefully, even though this is going down a league, in the long-term, I’ll find it a step up."
Stuart Lewis left a Wycombe side sitting top of League 2 to pen his deal at the PHB Stadium.
He said: "Everyone strives to be a League player. When you’re in the Conference or Conference South, you want to be a League player. But when I knew the plans of this club and what direction it’s going in, it’s like a challenge – and it’s a challenge I jumped at.
"With the likes of Danny Kedwell signing and Theo Lewis from Woking – and the plans they’ve got, I’m really looking forward to it.
"When you hear of signings like that, and other players they’re trying to bring in, you know they’re not mucking about. To be a part of this is exciting and, at my age, it’s something I jumped at."
Both players could make their Fleet debuts against Forest Green Rovers in the FA Trophy second round on Saturday. Kick-off at the PHB Stadium is at 3pm.
