LUKE MOORE’S first goal since September 2 revived Gravesend and Northfleet's play-off prospects in a dour, hard-won Boxing Day success.

The young Fleet striker took his chance well in the 42nd minute when he swept the ball past Crawley keeper Ben Hamer after Stacy Long and Sacha Opinel created the opening from a short corner. It was Moore’s fourth goal of the campaign.

Crawley, who started the season with a 10-point deduction after going into administration, were not without their moments in a game of few chances.

Gravesend: Cronin; Ross Smith, McCarthy, Hawkins; Slatter, Coleman (Keeling 70 mins), Long, Quinn, Opinel; MacDonald, Moore (Sodje 87 mins). Not used: James Smith, Purcell, Mott.

Attendance: 1,052.
