Every outfield player at Ebbsfleet has been warned they could lose their place in the team for the visit of Hartlepool on Saturday.
Manager Daryl McMahon was critical of his side’s performance at Woking on Tuesday as Fleet slipped to back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.
They were the victims of some poor officiating in the 2-0 loss at National League leaders Wrexham on Saturday but it was a different story at Kingfield in midweek.
McMahon described Inih Effiong’s winning goal as "embarrassing" and hinted at widespread changes for the home clash with Pools.
He said: “I thought we were poor, nowhere near the level I expect us to be at.
“I can take the Wrexham defeat. It was a good performance so that defeat’s not as poor from us and I’m not taking anything away from Woking but the standard I expect from our football club, (it was) a million miles from it.
“Few players came out of the game with any credit.
“At training on Thursday, every shirt’s up for grabs apart from (goalkeeper) Nathan Ashmore’s. That’s a fact. You can't not perform and expect to stay in the team.
“I’ll back the players and I love all of them but we need to perform better than we did on Tuesday. The fans were terrific again and we didn’t give them enough.”
McMahon was asked if there were going to be some hard miles on the training field as a result of the Woking performance.
He said: “I think we need them. It baffles me how you can go from beating Leyton Orient, playing well, going to Wrexham and putting on – particularly in the second half – an excellent performance and then Tuesday it’s way, way below where we expect to be.”
McMahon isn’t looking for new signings, though, with some of his key men close to returning from injury.
He said: “I believe in the players I’ve got. Dave Winfield, who will play a game next week hopefully, a reserve game behind closed doors and Jack Payne won’t be a million miles away. They’re key players for us.
“Bradley Bubb’s got a tight hamstring. It was a precaution taking him off (at Wrexham). The last thing we want is for him to be out long-term.
“Yado Mambo got a knock on his knee on Saturday and he’ll be fine for this weekend.”
Fleet’s medical staff will decide whether Andy Drury can play any part against Hartlepool after he suffered suspected concussion in midweek.
Drury was hit square in the face by a Chris Bush clearance and had to be substituted.
