GRAVESEND & Northfleet have clinched the signing of Oxford striker Manny Omoyinmi as the club continue to set a cracking pace in team strengthening.
Having already recruited Margate pair Jay Saunders and Graham Porter and brought former favourite Jimmy Jackson back to the club, manager Andy Ford has succeeded in tempting the 26-year-old Nigerian back to Stonebridge Road.
Oxford loaned Omoyinmi to the Fleet towards the end of last season but recalled him when new manager Graham Rix succeeded Ian Atkins.
The striker is an old friend of Fleet assistant manager Adrian Pennock from their days together at Gillingham and he was influential in bringing him to Gravesend. ad.
Omoyinmi started his career with West Ham and was loaned out to Bournemouth, Dundee United, Leyton Orient, Gillingham, Scunthorpe and Barnet before joining Oxford on a free transfer in July, 2000.
“Manny is a player of exceptional quality, as he proved during his time here on loan,” said Fleet chief executive Glenn Aitken. “He has the pace to frighten defences."
