Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon is hoping for a remarkable final day turnaround in the National League South title race.
The Fleet host Oxford City on Saturday hoping that Kent rivals Margate can do them a favour and take points off leaders Maidenhead.
But a Maidenhead win against a Margate side who have won just twice in 28 league matches will see the Fleet consigned to the play-offs yet again.
"Maidenhead will be favourites but we’ll see," said McMahon.
"We’re long odds to do it but funny things happen on the last day of the season, so who knows what will happen.
"It’s out of our hands, it always has been. We’ve just taken them to the last day, that’s all we’ve done.
"We’ve got 93 points which is a fantastic return, we’ll try and make it 96 and see where we finish up."
Fleet took the title race to the final day courtesy of a second-half comeback at Maidenhead on Saturday.
It means they now trail Alan Devonshire’s side by just two points, with the Fleet having a superior goal difference.
"I said to the boys before the game that we’ve got nothing to lose," said McMahon.
"The trophy was there for them, the league there for them and all of a sudden they had 3,000 fans there as well.
"It was all set up for them to come and have a party and we wanted to spoil it.
"Alan Devonshire is a legend, he is a top man and they’re a good side. We’re two good teams and it was a good game."
