DEPARTING Gravesend chairman Brian Kilcullen has not ruled out the appointment of an outsider as his successor.
He has stood down after six years at the helm, citing the need to devote all his time to the club’s relocation.
Until a successor is named, vice-chairman Jason Botley will take the helm.
Mr Kilcullen said: "We have a board meeting scheduled within the next two weeks when the subject of a successor will be discussed.
"There are people on the board capable of doing the job. But I’m not ruling out someone coming in because there could be someone out there who can bring something to the role."
With the Fleet on the verge of relocation at probably the most exciting time in its history, the club presents an attractive proposition.
Mr Kilcullen, the club’s major shareholder, emphasised that he will remain actively involved with the club.
He added: "I feel my time is best spent working on the finances of the club and the new stadium without the pressure of the other tasks."
