Tamworth 1 Gravesend 3
GRAVESEND & Northfleet gave themselves a boost as they took three points against their Conference relegation rivals.
Fleet got off to the best possible start when Steve Perkins opened the scoring when he glanced home Andrew Drury’s free- kick in the 16th minute. Fleet made it 2-0 when Ben Walshe crossed and Drury headed home.
Dennis Oli, signed on loan from QPR, almost added a third on his debut from Eddie McClements’ cross.
Scott Rickards gave Tamworth hope with a goal just before the break, but within 60 seconds James Lindley flapped at a Walshe cross and Perkins got his second.
Afterwards, boss Andy Ford said: “It was a big three points for us. Oli made a big difference and we scored some well executed goals. But we must carry on the good work against Dagenham on Tuesday night.”
