Ebbsfleet’s players will not be allowed to coast to the end of the season.
Fifty points is normally enough to keep you in the National League and Fleet already have 46.
They look comfortable but midfielder Dean Rance insists no-one will be easing up.
He said: “That’s not going to happen. We’ve got a driven group, we all know what we want to do and we want to finish as high as possible. We’ve got 12 games left and we want to win every single one.
“We won’t go into a game thinking we’ll coast to the end of the season, that’s not in us and the gaffer won’t let that happen.
“People are playing for contracts next year or playing to stay in the team.
“While the goal of play-offs is still there, why not go for it? Who knows what can happen if you string three or four results together?”
Rance, the Fleet’s longest-serving player, has looked back to his best in recent weeks.
He said: “I’m driven, I want to get up the league and we should be in a better position than we are.
“We’ve done well in our first season but we want to push on. Who knows where you can go from here?
“I’ve said for years I want to get in the Football League and I do believe we can do it with this squad.
“If things aren’t going well, you’ve got to stick together and see out games because you’re not going to be on top all the time.
“You’re going have spells when you’re up against it and that’s when the real mettle and attitude comes to the forefront.”
