Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon isn’t feeling the pressure as the race for the National League South title hots up.
The Fleet manager came under fire from supporters last week after their FA Trophy exit at Kidderminster.
The rumour mill was in overdrive with McMahon’s future under close scrutiny before his team delivered the perfect response at Stonebridge Road last Saturday by brushing aside promotion rivals Chelmsford.
“I don’t feel the pressure,” insisted McMahon. “Our record here at the club, we’ve got 51 points – 84 last year – it speaks for itself.
“The ultimate goal is to win promotion but we’ve done a good job – the players and staff at the club – and we’ll continue to do so.
“Everyone talks and wants to be negative all the time, every football club is the same but I don’t really feel that. I only care about what goes on inside the changing room.
“It had been a tough week because of how bad (the Kidderminster game) was, not because of anything else."
McMahon’s team travel to another promotion contender this weekend when they visit fourth-placed Poole.
He said: “I’ve been to Poole earlier this season to watch them play and they’re a good side. When we played them in the first game of the season I thought first half they were the better team.
“We changed things slightly at half-time and went on to win. They’ve continued that throughout the season so we know it’s going to be a difficult game.”
