Andy Priaulx will be carrying the hopes of the home fans during the next round of the World Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Last year Priaulx took a sensational race win and will be aiming to keep his championship hopes alive with another victory.
Britain’s three-time world champion is only five points shy of third place in the overall standings but will face stiff competition from fellow Brits Rob Huff and James Thompson.
All three have a point to prove. Priaulx has won at Brands for the past two years, Thompson was a close second in 2007 while Huff is re-visiting the scene of his first BTCC win.
SEAT’S Gabriele Tarquini leads the championship by a point despite failing to score during the last round in Estoril.
Tarquini is leading on 58 points while team-mate Yvan Muller is second with 57.
Sweden’s Rickard Rydell is in third place on 48 points, with Priaulx fourth with 43 points and Huff in fifth on 36.
As well as trying to power his BMW 320si to victory on home soil, Priaulx will also be taking to the grand prix circuit in a BMW Sauber F1 car for some special demonstration laps.
There will also be an aerobatic display, fun fair and face painting.
Support races include the Henderson Formula Palmer Audi Championship, SEAT Eurocup and Formula Master Series.
Tickets for July 26 and 27 cost from £25 for adults. Children aged 12 and under go free.
