Northwich Victoria 1 Gravesend & Northfleet 2

GRAVESEND built on their superb victory over leaders Oxford as they came from behind to win at Northwich Victoria on Saturday.

Strikers Charlie MacDonald and Onome Sodje had both missed glorious chances to put Fleet ahead before Carlos Roca gave the home side the lead on 11 minutes, converting Felix Bastians' pass.

But Gravesend were level in the 43rd minute when Sodje latched onto Paul McCarthy's header forward before looping a header over keeper Phillip Senior.

And Liam Daish's side were ahead less than two minutes later when Danny Slatter picked up Jon Keeling's pass before sending an unstoppable left-foot shot past Senior from the edge of the area.

The home side cranked up the pressure in the second half but failed to find an equaliser.

Gravesend: Cronin, McCarthy, R Smith, Hawkins, Opinel, Slatter, Quinn, Long, Keeling (DeBolla 66), Sodje, MacDonald
Subs not used: Mott, Purcell, Coleman, Ekoku.
