Ebbsfleet's players will be back at work on Sunday morning as boss Garry Hill calls the roll.

Fleet beat Eastleigh 3-0 on Saturday but picked up a few knocks and need to assess their walking wounded.

They go to Braintree on New Year's Day in terrific form but Hill won't let any of his players take their eye off the ball.

He said: "We've got five games in 15 days and 17 players available, so when you see one or two come off with knocks, we'll have to see where we are.

"We're in tomorrow morning at 9.30, we'll have a roll call and go again.

"You can't get in a comfort zone because you've won a game on Saturday and you've got an important game on New Year's Day playing away at Braintree.

"We have to make sure we get in and we turn up and do a certain amount of work tomorrow morning. Whether it's Sunday or whatever day, you've got to do that.

"If one or two players get knocks, you come in the next day and have a sort-out. We've got to come in tomorrow morning, that's essential.

"It would have been exactly the same irrespective of the result.

"A lot of people might have Sunday off but we're not having Sunday off, they know that and they were aware of that before today. That's how football goes sometimes.

"As soon as you get in a comfort zone and think 'we can have nice rest'... It's not my style and I think everyone knows that."

Hill made five changes against Eastleigh and his selection paid off as goals from Michael Cheek, Danny Kedwell and Corey Whitely blew the visitors away in the first half.

It's now five straight home league wins for the Fleet, who started the season by losing six out of nine matches at Stonebridge Road.

Hill said: "It's always important to get home results.

"People work hard through the week and they look forward to coming to the game. They want something to enjoy for their money.

"I did promise when I came to the football club with Ian Hendon that we'd have a team which would show commitment and try to play attractive football and win games.

"I think we're going in the right direction and all credit to the players and the staff.

"It's nice to be a manager and take the accolades but it's the players who go out on the park. It's the people who work hard behind the scenes, whether it's the assistant manager or the physios and it's also the supporters who play their part in a big way.

"You can see a lot of freshness about the football club at the present time, I've noticed that since I've come in but we all know how football goes. You've just got to keep going.

"To take 17 points out of 24, we're going in the right direction but we mustn't get carried away by it."
