Daryl McMahon admitted Ebbsfleet looked rusty in their draw with Maidenhead on Saturday.
Fleet were playing only their second game since February because of postponements forced by weather and cup commitments.
And although they scored inside three minutes, it was the Magpies who looked brighter and more dangerous for much of the game.

Harry Pritchard finally got Maidenhead on level terms nine minutes from the end.
"I can't moan," said McMahon. "Maidenhead deserved something out of the game, you can't say they didn't.
"They worked ever so hard, put us under pressure and they are direct. They put lots of balls into your box and we've got to defend it better.
"We lacked any sort of tempo to our play. It probably wasn't a great game to watch but it's another point on the board.
"We looked like a team that's had one game this month and there's lots for us to work on in the last eight games."
Luke Coulson's sweet strike had Fleet in front but Moses Emmanuel could easily have wrapped up a first-half hat-trick for the visitors.
McMahon said: "We had chances as well but Nathan Ashmore made two big saves, one in the first half from the deflected shot and another in the second half, so we can't gripe about the result at all.
"They caught us cold. We've had one game this month and it really showed.
"Our line was poor, our timing was poor and we looked a bit laboured, lacking game sharpness.
"We've got no excuse now because we've got that one out of the system and now we go into the last eight games."
Ebbsfleet visit Eastleigh on Good Friday before hosting Dover on Easter Monday.
