Daryl McMahon hailed Danny Kedwell's professionalism after he scored twice on his recall to the Ebbsfleet team on Saturday.

Kedwell, Andy Drury and Jack King - Fleet's three most experienced players - were all dropped following the 4-1 defeat at Wrexham earlier this month.

Drury and King haven't featured since but Kedwell, after two substitute appearances, returned to the starting XI at Dagenham.

He was right back at it, netting Fleet's second and third goals in a 3-1 victory which ended their six-match winless run.

McMahon said: "I’ve had him three-and-a-half years and he’s just been phenomenal from day one.

"No matter what happens to Keds - if he plays well or doesn’t play well, if he plays or gets left out - he’s always the same.

"People won’t say it looking at him but he is the ultimate professional.

"He’s a warrior and his mentality is what you want from a senior player.

"He’s a leader in the changing room and he’s a leader on the pitch.

"He shows desire and commitment every single day and he’s been awesome for us."

Kedwell partnered Corey Whitely up front with new loan signing Reise Allassani operating in the hole just behind.

The former Dulwich man, who's joined on loan from Coventry City, had a sensational debut at Victoria Road.

"Reise gives us another dimension to what we’ve had," McMahon said.

"He can run in behind and dribble in behind so if somebody’s deep, he’s a player that can take players out of the game with the ball and without the ball so that helps.

"It maybe frees Corey as well because instead of having to mark Corey, you’ve got to worry about him as well. Today it worked really well.

"I said to Reise in there, you never have a bad debut, so he’s got to build on that.

"He’s a player that we’ve liked for a while. He’s a real talent and he loves football; you could see it in him today. He’s settled right in."

McMahon is all about the performances but after Fleet's barren September, even he admitted the result came first this time.

"I’m delighted," he said. "You can’t replicate the feeling of walking into the changing-room at 5pm and you’ve won.

"To watch us in the first half, we were a threat on the break, we moved the ball well, the energy in the team was really good, the speed in the team was good and the quality was very high as well."
