Ebbsfleet made it back-to-back home wins at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
Three defenders were on the scoresheet as the Fleet got the better of 10-man Boreham Wood in the National League.
But Fleet lost defender Dave Winfield on his return from injury again - after being out since Boxing Day.
Ebbsfleet made two changes from the midweek win over Maidenhead. with Dean Rance and Chris Bush coming into the side.
Boss Garry Hill opted for a 3-5-2 formation and his team got off to a perfect start inside five minutes.
A long free-kick by Sam Magri found Gozie Ugwu, who did well to hold off his marker before turning his shot against the post. The ball came out to the feet of skipper Jack King, who produced a cool, low finish beyond keeper Ryan Huddart.
Wood levelled within five minutes, however, as Charlie Cooper's near-post corner was nodded in by Keiran Murtagh.
Fleet, who had Rance booked for a foul, regained the lead midway through the first half. Jack Payne's left-wing corner caused plenty of problems in the visiting defence and Magri dived into the six-yard box to head home.
The impressive Ugwu was proving too hot for the Wood defence to handle, clearly with a point to prove against the team he only recently left on loan.
He nearly produced a spectacular third goal for the Fleet just before the half-hour. This time, keeper Nathan Ashmore delivered a long free-kick and Ugwu held off his man before striking a brilliant right-foot volley from 20 yards which came back off the bar.
Magri was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card for an awful challenge on Idris Kanu two minutes before the break, although referee Alan Dale hardly needed the assistance of five Wood players surrounding him to make a decision.
Indeed, Wood's lack of discipline extended to beyond the half-time whistle with Murtagh - one of four players who went to chat to the official as the teams walked off at the break - cautioned for dissent.
Not to be outdone, Bush got in on the act eight minutes into the second half. Keeper Huddart flapped at a long free-kick and Bush was on hand to convert the loose ball via the underside of the crossbar.
Michael Cheek headed wide for the hosts just past the hour after good work down the left by Myles Weston.
Wood were reduced to 10 men when captain Mark Ricketts picked up two yellow cards inside as many minutes midway through the second half.
His first yellow card came for a needless pull back of Cheek off the ball as Fleet countered. Then, he tripped Lawrie Wilson right under the nose of referee Dale.
Winfield came off the bench for the final 20 minutes, receiving a warm reception from the home fans.
But he failed to complete the match, injuring himself when he went in for a challenge that led to Wood's second goal. Substitute Ralston Gabriel got the better of Winfield and squared for Bradley Ash to tap in with four minutes left.
Winfield then made his way off the field, clearly frustrated as he threw his shinpads into the air.
Ashmore misjudged a Jamal Fyfield cross deep in stoppage time but the ball went just wide of the upright.
