Winner of the 2007 European Tour Order of Merit Justin Rose of England has confirmed his attendance at this year’s European Open, which will be held at The London Golf Club in Kent for the first time from July 3-6.
Rose joins defending champion Colin Montgomerie of Scotland and a galaxy of stars at the £2.4million event, which will be played over the Jack Nicklaus-designed Heritage Course, situated near Brands Hatch.
The Englishman will head to Kent seeking to better his highest place finish of 14th in 2004, when the European Open was won by South Africa’s Retief Goosen at The K Club in Co. Kildare, Ireland.
Heath Harvey, General Manager of the London Golf Club, said: “It is fantastic news that Justin is playing in the European Open. He is a real crowd-puller and, judging by his recent performances which include winning the 2007 European Tour Order of Merit, he is certainly going to be a leading contender for the title.”
The London Golf Club is no stranger to tournament golf, having hosted the Bendinat London Seniors Masters for the past three years.
Golf fans will be able to enjoy the first day’s play free of charge, with the chance to watch one of the subsequent days at a substantially discounted rate.
Any spectators wishing to take advantage of this unmissable offer should log on to the official website at www.europeantourtickets.com to apply for up to two tickets per person.
