Gravesend Rugby Club's first XV blew a 15 point lead before losing 35-23 to fellow London 2 South promotion chasers Dorking on Saturday.
From the start, Gravesend pressed the visitors and took the lead from Gary Gray's penalty.
James Harris's stunning try, Gray's conversion and an unconverted try from Tony Nolan increased the home side's lead.
Dorking responded with two converted tries just before half-time in a warning of what was to come.
Although Gravesend added another Harris try to their tally, the visitors scored two more converted tries.
Gray's penalty kept the game close but Dorking had the final word, scoring their fifth converted try of the game to seal the points.
