KENT boxer Harry Dhami could be set for a sensational world title shot after rumours suggest he is being lined up for a shot at Eamon Magee’s WBU welterweight title.
It's been reported in the past that Dhami was set to face Jimmy Vincent in a British title eliminator, possibly in April.
But sources close to the fighter suggest the Vincent fight is just one of three possibilities for the Gravesend man, along with a shot at Irishman Magee or a British title shot against champion David Barnes.
However, Dhami, who has parted company with his long-time trainer Brian Hill because of ill health, is just focusing on Vincent for the time being.
He said: “There’s speculation about Magee and Barnes but until I get guarantees, I’m going to focus on Vincent. I want to win the Lonsdale belt outright but if a world title shot came along I’d be foolish to turn it down.
“I’d also like to fight Neil Sinclair again and lay that ghost to rest but at the moment I’m just preparing for my next fight.”
This week, Dhami began training with Alex Gowers as he prepares for his next bout.
