SKIPPER Paul McCarthy believes Ebbsfleet United’s move to join forces with fans website MyFootballClub is one that the club needed to make in order to push forward.
And the defender doesn’t believe the decision to give supporters a 51 per cent controlling stake in the club will affect any of the players futures.
McCarthy said: “We have been assured that it is business as normal. The gaffer (Liam Daish) has been very positive. In our league you need to have more funds available.
"Attendances have dropped so more funds and investment will provide an opportunity for the club to push on.”
Members will be involved in a number of major decisions that affect the club but McCarthy claims Daish will still have the final say on team affairs.
He added: “Liam doesn’t feel that his position has been undermined at all. Twenty thousand people deciding on team selection isn’t going to be feasible. It is going to be down to the management, staff and individuals.”
