Soccer girls seek sponsorship

MEMBERS of Gravesham Girls/Ladies Football Club have launched an appeal for sponsors in the hope of raising £4,000.

The club caters for girls from six years upwards and of all abilities. They were recent recipients of the Football Association's Charter Standard Award, given in recognition of their coaching structure.

The club need money for a new team strip, which will carry their sponsors's name, matchballs, coaching balls, and coaching equipment. Plus money to assist with team affiliation fees and the upkeep of their headquarters.

Club chairman John Thrush said: "We are unique in being the only girls club in the area and are trying to expand. But we do need help.

"We do a lot of fund-raising ourselves and will be trying to obtain some grant aid to improve our headquarters but we do need the support and assistance of local businesses."
