Stalemate at Stonebridge Road

Gravesend & Northfleet 0 Dagenham & Redbridge 0

GRAVESEND took a creditable point against second-placed Dagenham & Redbridge at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

Fleet were grateful to their keeper Lance Cronin after just four minutes when he superbly tipped Paul Benson's close range header round the post.

Charlie MacDonald had a sniff of goal after 35 minutes but his shot lacked conviction after a tricky run and Ross Smith headed wide three minutes before the break.

Neither side really threatened to find a breakthrough after the break, but Fleet won't mind too much as they extended their unbeaten run to nine games.

Gravesend: Cronin, J Smith, McCarthy, R Smith, Ricketts, Slatter, Quinn, DeBolla, Keeling (Opinel h-t), Moore (Sodje 68), MacDonald.
Subs not used: Mott, Purcell, Ekoku.
