The early-season Kent derby between Maidstone and Ebbsfleet will be all-ticket and segregated on police advice.
Stones host their county rivals on Tuesday, August 11 at the Gallagher Stadium where building work to expand the main stand is ongoing.
The stadium's capacity is being increased to 3,000 but only 2,300 will be allowed in for this match.
Stones season-ticket holders are guaranteed entry, while the remaining tickets for home supporters will be sold in two stages, firstly to fan club members and then general sale.
Maidstone chief executive Bill Williams said: "On one hand it’s great to make our home league debut with a Kent derby but on the other this fixture would have been ideal once all the works have been completed.
"I feel sure it’s one of those games when we would have reached the 3,000 mark.
"I am grateful to the Ebbsfleet officials for their understanding and let’s get our allocations sold and make this a game to remember."
Ebbsfleet have been allocated 250 tickets, of which 77 are seated, and those will go on sale one evening next week when the club receive the allocation.
Season-ticket holders will have priority but they can only purchase one ticket each.
A statement said: "The club understands that the allocation of tickets is very tight and that season-ticket holder priority will naturally mean some supporters unfortunately missing out.
"However, in the circumstances of the match having been scheduled against Maidstone’s wishes this early in the season, plus the police advice to segregate and allocate us the standard 10% of visiting tickets, we trust this is the fairest possible way of dealing with the situation."
Gates will open at 6.15pm on the night and away supporters have been warned not to travel without a valid ticket.
