The Kent Messenger Group's Sunshine Challenge finals day will be held at the prestigious London Golf Club at Ash on Friday, October 10.

The four semi-finalists will play the Heritage course, which staged the European Open in July. Ross Fisher, who set a new course record 63 opening round, lifted the trophy with a stunning seven-shot victory.

KMG readers have been battling it out throughout the summer in the matchplay competition, with the winner taking on a dozen other regional newspaper winners in an all-expenses paid week in Portugal in November.

Former champions Gary Tottman (h6, Canterbury) and Barry Venner (h13, Broome Park) will clash in the first semi-final with Peter Ludlow (h13, Gillingham) taking on another 13-handicappper, Steven Sharkey (Farleigh Court), in the other.

The winners will play in the afternoon for the right to be crowned 2008 KM Sunshine Challenge champion.
