ONOME SODJE'S second half strike earned Gravesend a superb victory over Nationwide Conference leaders Oxford United at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

The winner came in the 69th minute when Charlie MacDonald did brilliantly to find his strike partner, who rounded the keeper before slotting into an empty net.

It had looked like the goal would never come as Fleet missed a catalogue of chances in the first half - Sodje and MacDonald the guilty parties - while Stacy Long also went close.

The league leaders came to Stonebridge Road unbeaten in 18 matches.
