EBBSFLEET stunned struggling Altrincham with three goals in seven first half minutes to take maximum points in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday.

George Purcell, back with Fleet after a loan spell at Heybridge Swifts, gave the visitors the lead on 29 minutes when he drilled the ball home from 12 yards.

The visitors doubled their advantage on 33 minutes when Stacy Long's cross was met by Raphael Nade who headed the ball into the net.

Ebbsfleet's third came when Chris Lane headed the ball into his own net from a Neil Barrett cross on 36 minutes.

Colin Little gave Altrincham hope when he scored from the penalty spot after being fouled by Sacha Opinel in the 65th minute.

Fleet then had Michael Bostwick sent off, when his foul on Robbie Lawton earned him a second yellow card of the afternoon, but they held on to victory.
