GRAVESEND & Northfleet substitute Ben Abbey scored twice in a 4-1 win against Sittingbourne at Central Park last night to assure the Fleet of a place in the Kent Senior Cup quarter-finals.
Gravesend, with Saturday’s FA Cup, second round home tie against Notts County clearly on their minds, rested a number of established first-teamers but were still too strong for Sittingbourne.
Louie Evans opened the scoring from Anthony Finn’s cross for the only goal of the first half.
Sittingbourne levelled through Kieron Marsh when goalkeeper Alex O'Reilly lost possession. Then Abbey struck two goals to deflate the home side.
James Pinnock, another substitute, rounded off the scoring with the Fleet’s fourth.
