Up and down week for Fleet boss

MIXED EMOTIONS: Liam Daish

Gravesend & N 1 Morecambe 2

GRAVESEND & Northfleet paid the penalty for a poor start in this game and never really recovered.

Morecambe, still hoping for a Conference play-off place, went ahead after only three minutes when Wayne Curtis fired home from 20 yards. On 22 minutes Darran Kempson made it 2-0 from close range.

Lee Protheroe netted what turned out to be Fleet's consolation goal with a well-taken free kick seven minutes from half-time.

It was a particularly disappointing result for the Fleet manager Liam Daish in the week they announced they have taken the giant step of becoming a full-time club.
