Ebbsfleet 0 Stevenage 1 (Stevenage win 4-2 on aggregate)
Ebbsfleet's dreams of another trip to Wembley were ended when a stoppage time winner for Stevenage settled their FA Trophy semi-final second leg tie at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
The Fleet were trailing 3-2 from the first leg and, despite piling on the pressure in the second half, could not find a way through. They were then hit with a late sucker-punch when substitute Peter Vincenti scored to book Stevenage a place in the final.
Chances were few and far between during an even opening 45 minutes as the teams went into the break level.
Former Fleet player Andy Drury fired narrowly wide immediately after the restart, but it was Liam Daish's side who were the better throughout the second half.
Ricky Shakes began to have some joy down the right flank and was troubling the Stevenage defence with his pace.
Guiseppe Sole played in Luke Moore whose powerful shot went just wide as Fleet began to apply sustained pressure.
Leon Crooks shot wide after a free-kick was only partially cleared to him on the edge of the box and Stacy Long’s half-volley was acrobatically kept out by keeper Chris Day as Fleet threw everything forward in the last 15 minutes.
Daish brought on George Purcell for Shakes in a final throw of the dice as time started to run out, but the tie was settled in stoppage time by Vincenti's strike.
