Ebbsfleet's FA Cup exit could be the trigger for players to start leaving the club.
Fleet would have banked £36,000 in prize money had they won Tuesday night's first round replay at Cheltenham.
But a 2-0 defeat to the League 2 side has left manager Garry Hill facing some key decisions.
Fleet have received offers for players although downsizing their squad won't be straightforward.
Hill said: "I’ve had a couple of calls but nothing would have been happening while we were in the FA Cup with what was at stake financially.
"We haven’t been put under any pressure to make a decision straight away.
"We’ve been made aware the club has got to be self-sufficient and I think that’s totally right.
"Players should want to play football and if they’re not going to be in the team, whether they go out on loan or they move on in the January window, time tells.
"Staff-wise, we’ve cut that, but a staff contract is completely different from a football contract.
"I have been informed there were a lot more staff members here before we came and we’ve parted company with three. They weren’t bad lads but there were too many staff in my opinion.
"We’re down to four at the moment, we’re happy with what we’re working with and we have to look at getting a goalkeeping coach.
"But in respect of the playing squad, the owner’s been very honest and what he wants is a club being self-sufficient and a team of football players who go out on the pitch week in, week out, win, lose or draw and give value of effort and commitment for what they’re picking up. I don’t think, in the three games we’ve had, you’ve seen anything lacking in that."
Hill's immediate task is to get Fleet scoring again after three games without a goal.
He said: "We’re analysing the squad, players are under contract and the owner has done a great deal for this football club.
"He’s got a new structure in place and we’re working in a direction to take the club forward.
"I look at the list of players here and we know what we’ve got to do. We’ll be patient, we know the game and I’m hoping these forwards turn round and come up trumps.
"Clubs at all levels go through barren spells but it is frustrating when the boys work so hard for you in games and create so many chances."
