Family means everything to new Ebbsfleet manager Josh Wright - and nothing is going to change now he’s taken on the leading role.
The popular 35-year-old midfielder has swapped playing for managing mid-season as the Fleet turned to a trusted leader in their hour of need.
It means father-of-two Wright will be spending more time than ever at football - but he’s got the all-clear from the most important person in his life.
“Hollie, my wife, is brilliant,” said Wright. “She has been with me my whole career and she knows what I’m like, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I try not to bring it home as much as I can.
“She knows that managing is going to take up more of my time but she’s right there to support me, she’s right behind me with whatever I want and she’s a big part of my life and how I control my emotions.
“She keeps me on track and she’ll be crucial in this period as well. She’s all for me to do what I need to do.
“On Saturday at Barnet, my two boys were there along with other family members, and that means a lot as I know they’re with me and they support me.
“That’s what I mean about family and our fans are our family as well. We need everyone to pull us in the right direction.”
Wright makes no bones about wanting to bring everyone back together again - and the only way to do that is for everyone to be on board. They face a near-impossible task but it will be more difficult for the rookie manager if there are divides in his own camp.
“The fans mean everything to me, they are the football club,” added Wright. “The fans are Ebbsfleet United and they’re the bubble that surrounds us.
“I need them to drive with me, pull with me, cheer us on, celebrate with us, encourage us and give us everything we need as a group of staff, players and what this club needs.
“We need everyone from now to the end, not just the staff, not just the players, not just the fans. We need everyone’s family and friends to give us everything.
“The fans are going to be a huge part of that. I’ve loved playing under them and I’m going to love managing their football club.”
